Job role: Application & Technology Assessment Consultant

Duration: 12+ month

Location: Remote occasional on-site in Kenilworth, NJ

Role Summary

The Application & Technology Assessment Consultant will lead a comprehensive evaluation of the company's existing ERP, CRM, and enterprise technology infrastructure. This individual will identify inefficiencies, gaps, and areas of opportunity, and deliver clear, actionable recommendations to support business growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct a full-scale assessment of current enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, finance, operations, and other business-critical systems).
  • Evaluate integration points, data flows, licensing, scalability, and overall system performance.
  • Interview key stakeholders across departments to gather insights on current pain points and business needs.
  • Benchmark existing platforms against industry standards and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize, consolidate, or replace technology platforms.
  • Develop and present a strategic roadmap for the future state of the company's application ecosystem, aligned with business objectives and budget.
  • Provide technology recommendations including vendor options, migration strategies, and implementation considerations.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in IT strategy, enterprise technology, or systems consulting.
  • Proven experience with ERP and CRM systems (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce, Dynamics, SAP, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture and integration.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess complex IT environments and deliver clear, business-aligned recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to interact effectively with executive leadership.
  • Experience in mid-market companies ($25M $250M revenue range) is highly preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Background in business transformation or digital modernization initiatives.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based platforms and SaaS solution evaluation.
  • PMP, TOGAF, or similar certifications a plus.
