Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Golf course in Branson, Missouri is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.
Position Overview:
Responsible for the health and daily upkeep of the playing conditions on the golf course and working alongside the Golf Course Superintendent to ensure all is kept visually and mechanically sound throughout the course, all while getting to enjoy the beautiful scenery as they go! This position is great for those have difficulty sitting still. With the tasks at hand, there is never a dull moment! This will be a full experience exposing you to all aspects of golf course management preparing you to become a superintendent.
Duties:
• Personnel management and training.
• Top dressing.
• Mowing and equipment operations.
• Cup changing.
• Watering.
• Sodding and seeding.
• General maintenance.
• Equipment maintenance and repair.
• Irrigation scheduling, maintenance, and repair.
• Fertilization and chemical applications (when necessary).
• Communication with resort management.
• Responsibilities are varied on a daily and seasonal basis and are dictated by the needs of the golf course and directed by the superintendent.
• Once established in position, responsibilities may also include training of additional Greenskeeper staff.
Requirements:
High school diploma.
One year experience in a related position, required.
Must obtain Missouri pesticide applicator’s license in first year.
Ability to work weekends.
Should be familiar with golf and have an understanding of good golf etiquette.
An eye for detail and aesthetics is essential in maintaining quality conditions for a resort-style golf course.
The position may be physically strenuous and can require lifting over 50 pounds, with repetitive motions and frequent bending and stooping.
Most of the work is completed in an open outdoor setting, so the ability to work for long periods under seasonal environmental stresses is a necessity.
A valid driver’s license is required for employment.
Compensation:
$55,000 – $65,000 per year.
