Job Description

AMERICAN WELDING & GAS, INC. has a new opportunity for a CDL HazMat Driver in South Range, MI. This is a full-time career opportunity with excellent benefits!

 

Duties:  

  • Read, understand and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
  • Comply with all DOT+OSHA Regulations.
  • Moves, loads, and unloads empty/full cylinders safely and efficiently.
  • Ensures appropriate preparation and/or completion and accuracy of paperwork including but not limited to shipping papers and delivery tickets.
  • Maintains cleanliness of vehicle.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Physical requirements:  

  • Lifting, bending, twisting, climbing, crouching, kneeling.
  • Driving vehicle.
  • Repetitive movement.
  • Operating motorized equipment.
  • Sitting; standing; walking.
  • Working indoor/outdoor as business needs.
  • Working at increased noise levels.
  • Safety hazards.

 

Qualifications:  

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Class A or B CDL Required with Hazmat, Tanker & Airbrake endorsement or the ability to obtain both endorsements.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Able to read and write English.
  • Able to move compressed gas and liquid cylinders; Lift 50-75 pounds frequently and maneuver 100+ pound cylinders (rolling, using a cart, etc.).
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, Back Assessment and company administered road test.
  • Ability to communicate with customers Drug Free work environment.
