Job Overview: We are seeking a strategic and results-driven
CPG Supply Planner to assist in optimizing our supply chain operations while working in a growing, fast-paced environment. This role will drive inventory planning, manage vendor relationships and ultimately facilitate fill rate performance. Additionally, this position will focus on cost reductions, improving efficiency, and ensuring the inventory procurement process is aligned with the company’s quality standards. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of retail supply chain management. Strong analytical and trend analyses, complemented with sound business judgement, will be the core competencies of this individual.
Key Responsibilities: - Planning & Inventory Management:
- Implement inventory planning strategies to ensure accurate and efficient inventory levels across multiple product categories.
- Manage supply planning processes to create safety stock for fluctuations in product demand and ensure the company can meet customer needs.
- Analyze product movement trends, seasonality, and historical data to optimize inventory flow and minimize stockouts or excess inventory.
- Work closely with sales, marketing, and product teams to align product launches, seasonal promotions, and procurement with inventory planning.
- Product Procurement & Supplier Management:
- Manage procurement processes to ensure timely delivery of ingredients and products, while minimizing stockouts and excess inventory.
- Maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers, manufacturers, and ingredient vendors to ensure reliable sourcing and supply continuity.
- Operational Efficiency & Data Driven Decision Making:
- Continuously assess supply chain processes to find opportunities for process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce operational costs and chargebacks.
- Utilize data and analytics to track performance metrics such as lead times, inventory turnover, order accuracy and procurement costs.
- Continuously monitor the effectiveness of supply chain strategies and make adjustments to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer experience.
Qualifications: - Must have prior experience working with a CPG food brand
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in supply chain management, demand planning, or operations, with a strong focus on mass retailer consumer goods (health and wellness industry experience preferred).
- Proven track record of successfully managing inventory planning and product procurement in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in cost reduction strategies, process improvement, and operational efficiency in supply chain management.
- Strong communication skills with a customer-focused mindset.
- Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with supply planning and forecast aggregation tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to solve complex supply chain challenges while supporting same teams (hands-on) during high-volume sales events.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with an ability to make data-driven decisions.
- High attention to detail with a focus on continuous process improvement.
