Role: Database Admin

Location: St. Louis, MO (Permanent remote)

Duration: 12+ months

Note:

• This DBA position is a niche senior level Oracle DBA. It is an application Oracle DBA with experience in performance tuning complex SQL applications. Look for 15-20 years experienced experts.
• DBA will be responsible for partnering with architects and other technical leaders to offer performance tuning ideas and implementations for PRISM a large, high-volume Oracle database.
• Knowledge of Oracle, PL/SQL, and database tuning tools will be a necessity.
• You will also play a significant role in the design and implementation of the database strategy for the cloud-based replacement for PRISM (complex custom application).
• Additionally, you may be asked to partner with software engineers to ensure the code they write is performant when executed in a database environment and assist analysts in tracing data through our systems.
• Additional responsibilities will include collaborating with other IT teams to regarding on-going database maintenance, assisting the team with documentation, and serving as the overall database subject matter expert on the team.

Required:

• 5+ years of Oracle DBA experience with an emphasis on performance tuning
• Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
• Strong communication skills with the ability to transcend the organization with appropriate levels of detail
• Strong teamwork, decision-making, documentation, and analytical skills
• Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
• Must have desire to learn and try new things

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
• Professional experience with cloud technologies and cloud migrations, preferably AWS and Azure
• Professional DBA experience with Postgres
• Knowledge of Data Governance best practices
