ABOUT SALSA CATERERS & SPECIAL EVENTS: We are an off-premises and on-premises catering, food service and special events company specializing in Traditional Criollo cuisines. While Latino food is our specialty, Salsa also offers diverse menus for most cultural affairs.

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Food Stylist or Plating & Presentation Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in culinary techniques and an exceptional eye for artistic food presentation. This role focuses on ensuring that each dish leaving the kitchen is visually stunning, consistent, and aligned with Salsa’s culinary vision. This role will begin on a project basis and may lead to a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop visually compelling plating designs for menu items
• Execute and oversee the plating of dishes for plating and presentation guide, marketing materials, and events to ensure consistency and high visual standards
• Maintain a clean, organized plating station with all tools and garnishes prepared in advance
• Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure understanding of plating standards
• Create modern plating trends and presentation techniques
• Provide training and guidance to culinary staff on food presentation and styling
• Support general kitchen operations as needed during peak hours or special events

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts or related field, with 5+ years of experience
• Proven experience in a fine dining, upscale restaurant, or high-end catering company setting
• Strong culinary skills and understanding of food textures, colors, and balance
• Excellent attention to detail and artistic sensibility
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain consistency
• Knowledge of current food styling trends and plating techniques

• Creative mindset with a passion for visual design
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills
• A meticulous and disciplined approach to work
• Culinary focus on Latin cuisine is a plus
