Description Join a dynamic mid-sized East Bay law firm as a Labor & Employment Attorney in a fully remote capacity! This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in California employment law while enjoying flexibility and autonomy. You'll play a key role in supporting the firm's clients with compliance, policy development, and strategic guidance. Responsibilities + Provide legal advice on labor and employment matters, including wage and hour compliance, workplace policies, and employee relations. + Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, severance packages, and collective bargaining agreements. + Handle litigation related to wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims. + Conduct workplace investigations and advise on disciplinary actions. + Stay current on federal, state, and local labor laws and proactively update clients on regulatory changes. + Collaborate with HR teams and management to develop compliant policies and training programs. + Prepare legal briefs, pleadings, and other documents for arbitration, mediation, and court proceedings Requirements + Active California Bar license (required). + 3-9 years of experience practicing labor and employment law in a law firm or corporate setting. + In-depth knowledge of California wage and hour laws, leave entitlements, and anti-discrimination statutes. + Experience drafting and reviewing employment agreements, handbooks, and policy manuals. + Strong legal research and writing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise guidance. + Familiarity with compliance audits, internal investigations, and advising on workplace best practices. + Ability to manage multiple projects independently in a remote environment. + Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
