This family owned Southwestern Virginia cattle company has an immediate opening for a general manager. The spring calving operation runs 1375 cow/calf pairs on 16,000 acres. The successful applicant will prepare annual budgets and report quarterly to Board of Directors, manage 10 employees, be knowledgeable of equipment, nutrition, herd health, negotiate contracts on behalf of Corporation, participate in beef association activities, work with FSA, Soil and Water Conservation, NRCS, and other Natural Resource agencies.
Must have experience in managing labor, calving, feeding, herd health, AI programs, BQA, knowledge of risk management and be able to work with a Board of Directors.
