Job Description

Our client in the roofing and construction industry is seeking a Job Site Supervisor in the Capital Region . We’re looking for individuals who share our high standards of customer service, communication, and quality craftsmanship to join our team. The Job Site Supervisor ensures proper and safe installation of replacement roofing systems.

This company services the following areas: Albany, Saratoga Springs, Clifton Park, Schenectady, Troy, Glens Falls, Queensbury, Lake George, Amsterdam, and surrounding areas.

YEAR ROUND EMPLOYMENT! A typical schedule varies by season. 50+ hours per week is common during peak season (March-November). 32-40 hours per week is common during the rest of the year.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Always be safety conscious both on the job and while driving, and ensure that all assistant installers are also working safely and neatly.
  • Inspect every aspect of an installation before leaving the job to prevent unnecessary callbacks after the job is finished. Use the Installation Excellence Form for re-checking, having it signed by the homeowner once completed.
  • Explain the roofing system to clients, including gutters, ventilation, downspouts, insulation to the client when finished with and make sure that they are 100% satisfied with the work.
  • Maintain a production level minimum as determined by management and the annual plan.
  • Train installation assistants, teaching them to work independently for maximum installation efficiency.
  • Take pride in every installation that you do. Let the client know what you did for them that other companies don’t usually do. Show the client through the quality of your work that your company offers superior service and quality.
  • Always maintain a neat and clean work area which includes our work vehicles and the client’s home including rooftop, yard, driveway, street, porches, etc. Wear floor savers while in the client’s home. Use drop cloths to protect the client’s floors if necessary.
  • Complete all required documentation including installation paperwork and reporting in a timely and accurate manner.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience as a job site supervisor, foreman, or manager in a building or construction related industry
  • At least 1 year of roofing industry experience
  • Supervisory skills and/or experience managing subcontractors
  • Experience working directly with clients is preferred
  • Experience operating handheld power tools is preferred
  • Valid and clean Driver’s License
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Heavy lifting (50-75 pounds), ladder work and tight space work required
  • Ability to pick-up a minimum of 25 pounds consistently and carry up to 250 feet unassisted
  • Ability to work more than 40 hours per work week and up to 12 hours per day

  • Work both indoors and outdoors
  • Very hot or very cold temperatures
  • Proximity to hazardous conditions, equipment, and situations
  • Sharp tools and electricity that could potentially produce cuts or burns
  • PPE and safety attire, such as goggles or other protective clothing are often required
  • Sounds and noise levels that are uncomfortable and distracting
  • Bright or inadequate lighting conditions
  • Ladders and work from elevated surfaces such as roofs and scaffolding
  • Work in cramped work places, such as crawl spaces
