Part-Time School Social Worker – Elementary | Illinois | 2025–2026 School Year
We are currently looking for a caring and motivated School Social Worker to support an elementary school in Illinois during the 2025–2026 academic year. This part-time opportunity allows you to play a vital role in helping students succeed by addressing their social, emotional, and behavioral needs within a team-oriented school setting.
In this position, you will focus on promoting student wellness by identifying and responding to the social-emotional factors that impact learning and behavior. Serving as a collaborative link between families, teachers, and school leadership, you will help ensure students receive appropriate supports and services that encourage long-term success.
Your responsibilities will include providing individual and small-group interventions to strengthen emotional awareness, improve peer interactions, and support students through personal or academic challenges. You will complete social-emotional assessments, analyze results, and contribute professional insight to guide student support and intervention planning.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will assist in developing and carrying out behavior supports and strategies that promote positive conduct, classroom engagement, and overall growth. You will participate in problem-solving discussions, contribute to IEP development, and offer recommendations for behavior intervention plans as needed.
This role also requires maintaining accurate documentation, monitoring student progress, and ensuring compliance with school and state guidelines. Additionally, you will collaborate with families to connect them with community agencies and external resources, helping create consistent support systems beyond the school setting.
Must hold a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program and possess a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Social Work endorsement. Applicants should have successfully completed a 600-hour supervised internship within a school setting and passed the Illinois Licensure Testing System (ILTS) exam for School Social Workers.
We eagerly anticipate your application!
