Job Description

Reid & Associates is assisting a leading regional healthcare provider is seeking an experienced and strategic Laboratory Director to lead and oversee all aspects of its clinical laboratory operations. This role is ideal for a motivated professional committed to excellence in diagnostic services, regulatory compliance, and laboratory innovation. The position ensures the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality laboratory services in alignment with industry standards and organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and direction for all laboratory operations, staff, and services

• Ensure adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards (CLIA, CAP, CMS, OSHA, etc.)

• Develop and implement quality assurance and performance improvement programs

• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate laboratory personnel; oversee staffing and training

• Collaborate with medical and administrative teams to support diagnostic and patient care services

• Manage departmental budgeting, procurement, and resource allocation

• Lead the validation and integration of new testing technologies and practices

• Serve as the primary liaison for inspections, audits, and vendor relations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field (required)

• Advanced degree or certification in laboratory management or healthcare leadership (preferred)

• Current Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license or equivalent

• Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a clinical laboratory environment

• Strong knowledge of federal and state laboratory regulations and operations

• Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
