General Summary: The Marine Engineer position has knowledge and experience in marine engineering with a focus on planning and designing tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Develop engineering work packages for shipboard modifications and installation of new equipment.
  • Develop AutoCAD drawings in company required formats.
  • Liaison with team personnel to provide engineering support.
  • Develop maintenance procedure for assets using the RCM process.
  • Assist in the development of SMS procedures as requested.
  • Assist logistics personnel identify replacement part and equipment for unsupported technology.
  • Assist is the development of maintenance plans and procedure for periodic maintenance and regulatory maintenance and inspection.
  • Assist in the development of scheduling plans of action and milestones.
  • Perform ship checks, write work items, and develop estimate for ship alterations.
  • Write reports of findings for inspections.
  • Other engineering tasks as assigned.

This position requires ability to perform ship checks and attend vessels in a shipyard environment. Candidates must be able to walk long distances and climb ladders. Work environment may be cold or hot and high humidity. The work environment may be loud from operating machinery.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Five (5) years in the marine industry.
  • Desired: A USCG Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC), with the following rating and endorsements: a minimum of Second Assistant Engineer (steam, motor or gas turbine) of unlimited horsepower.
  • Secret Security Clearance Required
