Job Description

Salary: $112,450 - 203,275 per year Requirements:

  • I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • I have at least 15 years of experience in networking, with a focus on Juniper and Cisco Systems.
  • I am able to grasp a wide range of unique skills and think and respond quickly to real-time data flow problems.
  • I possess advanced knowledge of TCP/IP technology, including IP addressing and subnet masking.
  • I have knowledge of troubleshooting network issues in both LAN and large WAN environments, which include firewalls and network taps.
  • I am experienced with network tools such as SolarWinds, Cisco ISE, and INFOBLOX.
  • I can use standard networking troubleshooting tools, e.g., BERTS, iPerf, and Wireshark.
  • I have working knowledge of all tools in the Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio).
  • I demonstrate excellent writing and oral communication skills.
  • I have strong knowledge of telephony systems and communications infrastructure.
  • I have proven experience in providing Tier 3 support for complex technical environments.
  • My interpersonal and communication skills enable me to engage effectively with NASA leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • I have demonstrated ability to train and mentor personnel in technical and operational domains.
  • I am a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Responsibilities:
  • I act as Tier 3 support for NIOC operations, diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues impacting communications systems and networks.
  • I oversee and manage networking systems with expertise in Juniper and Cisco technologies.
  • I support and maintain the telephony infrastructure critical to NASA’s communication systems.
  • I train and mentor operators, ensuring proficiency in operational processes and technical systems.
  • I collaborate with NASA leadership, providing regular updates, recommendations, and insights to align communication operations with organizational goals.
  • I contribute to designing, implementing, and optimizing communication and networking systems to enhance reliability and performance.
  • I stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in networking and communications to maintain system excellence.

The pay range for this position is $112,450.00 - $203,275.00, which is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
