The Physical Education Teacher is responsible for providing a well-rounded, faith-centered physical education program that promotes physical fitness, health, and wellness while reinforcing Catholic values. This role emphasizes the development of students' physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, encouraging lifelong fitness and healthy lifestyles.
Develop and deliver engaging and comprehensive physical education lessons that meet state and diocesan standards.
Teach a wide range of physical activities, including team sports, individual fitness, health education, and lifetime recreational activities.
Adapt lessons to meet the diverse physical abilities and needs of all students, promoting inclusivity and participation.
Integrate Catholic values, such as respect for one’s body and the dignity of others, into physical education lessons.
Foster a spirit of sportsmanship, collaboration, and ethical competition in all physical activities.
Create and maintain a safe, organized, and respectful classroom environment that promotes physical activity and student engagement.
Establish and reinforce behavior expectations consistent with the school's Catholic mission, emphasizing respect, integrity, and fairness.
Supervise students during physical activities, ensuring safety and proper technique.
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or related field
Valid teaching certification or licensure in Physical Education.
Experience teaching at the high school level, especially in a Catholic or private school setting, is preferred.
Passion for fitness, health, and wellness, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
Practicing Catholic preferred; must be committed to the Catholic mission and values of the school.
