Job Description

A Principal Engineer job in Carrollton, TX is currently available through Belcan at one of our key radiation safety, measurement, and detection clients. To be considered for this role, you will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or relevant Engineering field and 14+ of relevant experience. Additional info: You will need to have strong expertise in C, C++, and C# to design, develop, and integrate software solutions with third-party hardware and systems. This role requires hands-on experience in software development, performance optimization, and system architecture. You should be proficient in SQL Server, multithreading, and debugging existing code for performance improvements. Additionally, you will collaborate with teams to migrate C/C++ code to C#, ensuring a seamless transition. Experience with video management systems and customer interactions is highly preferred, along with the ability to work effectively in an onsite-offshore model. Job Duties:

• Design and develop systems using C, C++, and C# to integrate third-party hardware and software solutions.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize software applications with a focus on performance and efficiency.
• Integrate and work with third-party C/C++ SDKs to enhance functionality.
• Implement SQL Server-based solutions to support application needs.
• Utilize multithreading and advanced optimization techniques to improve system performance.
• Write and execute test cases in C++ to ensure software quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with teams to migrate C/C++ code to C# while maintaining software integrity.
• Work on video management systems to support business needs and functionality improvements.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize existing code for enhanced performance.
• Participate in code reviews and documentation efforts to enforce best practices.
• Set up and manage lab environments for software testing purposes.
• Interface with customers to gather requirements and provide technical support.
• Operate effectively within an onsite-offshore development model.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong expertise in C, C++, and C# for software development and system integration.
• Experience in working with third-party C/C++ SDKs and hardware systems.
• Must have experience in customer interfacing and requirement gathering.
• Operate effectively within an onsite-offshore development model.
• Due to the nature of the work performed, US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

• Good to have experience in migrating C/C++ code to C# while maintaining performance and functionality
• Familiarity with video management systems is preferred.
• Good to have experience in setting up lab environments for testing.

Compensation: We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $125,000-165,000, however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
