Job Description

Who We Are

At Blue Stone Management, we're not just managing projects, we're helping shape the future of communities through bold, innovative capital improvement programs. From universities to water infrastructure to airports , our teams thrive in complex, multi-stakeholder environments where collaboration and creativity matter as much as technical expertise.

We're looking for a Sr. Project Manager to join our team on one of SFOs terminal modernization projects. This role isn't about managing a single project, it's about orchestrating the entire ecosystem of design, construction, logistics, and operations to deliver a terminal that works seamlessly within one of the busiest airports in the world.

If you're someone who has successfully led programs in active operating environments, loves working at the intersection of construction and operations, and has the leadership presence to influence stakeholders at the highest level, you'll feel right at home here.

What You'll Do

Own the big picture: Represent the client, oversee scope, schedule, and operational interfaces for all design and construction activities within a major SFO-managed terminal modernization program.

Drive project success: Drive schedule certainty, budget alignment, and uncompromising quality standards while fostering a strong safety and environmental culture.

Lead with insight: Proactively identify project risks, such as delays or budget overruns, and implement mitigation strategies to maintain progress and ensure compliance with airport authority requirements.

Be the connector: Serve as the primary liaison between Client, SFO, consultants, and contractors, facilitating interface meetings and managing weekly stakeholder communication tools like dashboards and executive summaries.

Bring clarity to complexity: Track and report on program milestones, budgets manage risk and resolve constructability issues in real time.

Coordinate complex interfaces: provide oversight for the owner on design, construction, logistics, testing, and commissioning across multiple project teams, ensuring smooth integration with airport operations.

Bridge operations and construction: Coordinate with airport divisions to minimize impacts on traffic, passenger flow, and airline operations.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, or related field.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in infrastructure projects, preferably in aviation.
  • Strong leadership skills, capable of guiding teams, resolving stakeholder conflicts, and communicating with clarity at the executive level.
  • Deep knowledge of design, construction, commissioning, logistics, risk management, QA/QC, and dispute resolution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam,
  • Familiarity with PMIS platforms, CAD/REVIT a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Experience managing capital projects at active airports, coordinating with airport authorities, airlines, and the FAA. Familiarity with the unique challenges of construction in operational aviation environments is a big plus.
  • PMP, CCM, PE, or LEED accreditation.
  • Experience with fast-track or design-build projects.

Why You'll Love It Here

  • Play a leadership role in a terminal transformation that will redefine SFO for decades.
  • Join a team that values collaboration, problem-solving, and innovation with no shortage of complex challenges to keep things interesting.
  • Enjoy the scale and excitement of aviation while working with a team that balances professional rigor with a fun, people-first culture.
