Job Description

LOCATION: Onsite, M-F, full-time

SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting in the planning, coordination and execution of purchasing activities required for the procurement of goods and services for the NRA.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Establish and maintain professional interpersonal relationships with staff and vendors
2. Manage NRA-ILA Inventory of premiums and track fulfillment with the warehouse and fulfillment vendor
3. Handle the NRA-ILA post card and fundraising mailings through established vendors
4. Create and send RFPs to vendors for goods and services as required
5. Handle high volume of vendor/staff emails and phone calls daily
6. Completes and processes moderately complex purchase orders in a timely manner
7. Manage the NRA record retention program
8. Manage the NRA secure shredding program as directed
9. Utilize online systems as a resource for procurement
10. Utilize and maintain the purchasing filing system
11. Educate and assist NRA staff on compliance with Purchasing policies
12. Other duties as may be assigned

SCOPE: This is a high visibility position with daily interaction with NRA staff. Must be able to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision, in accordance with established standards and procedures. Interface effectively with Accounts Payable staff. Position requires frequent shifting of tasks and priorities to accomplish work on deadline, often under tight time constraints.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Minimum of HS diploma or equivalent; college preferred. Purchasing and inventory management experience a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required in order to establish clear, direct, two-way communication with staff and vendors. Must be able to successfully multi-task and have highly developed organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Strong customer service skills essential. Must have well-developed problem solving skills and be able to adapt and initiate action when needed. Able to exercise tact and diplomacy and maintain composure under stress. Experience with Microsoft SL software and NetSuite helpful.
