Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatric ICU (Preceptor Role)
Location: New York, NY (Manhattan Area)
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 3x12 Day Shifts | 7:30 AM – 8:00 PM
Weekly Gross Pay: ~$3,530
Position OverviewThis is a Pediatric ICU RN Preceptor assignment within a high-acuity pediatric care environment. The RN in this role will be responsible for teaching, supervising, and guiding incoming nurses during their orientation period, ensuring safe patient care and professional development.
Key ResponsibilitiesServe as a Preceptor to new Pediatric ICU nurses; may precept up to two nurses at a time.
Provide clinical teaching, mentorship, and hands-on training during patient care.
Ensure patient safety by supporting new staff in applying best practices and avoiding clinical errors.
Communicate daily progress, needs, and feedback to the on-site Nurse Educator/Leadership team.
Deliver comprehensive care to pediatric patients with varying levels of acuity.
Perform IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation as part of daily responsibilities.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Minimum 5 years of relevant pediatric critical care nursing experience.
At least 2 years of experience in:
Maternal & Child Health
IV Insertion and Phlebotomy
Conscious Sedation
ASN or ADN required
(BSN preferred but not mandated.)
Active Registered Nurse License in the State of New York
BLS (AHA)
PALS
