As a Security Guard - Armed Government Facility in Fort Lauderdale, FL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated government healthcare locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and responding promptly to situations as they arise. You will maintain a visible presence, interact professionally with staff and visitors, and deliver exceptional customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing de-escalation techniques when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the assigned location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and maintain a visible Allied Universal presence.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas, checking for proper identification and reporting any suspicious activity.
  • Assist with access control by verifying credentials of individuals entering the location and/or restricted areas.
  • Complete detailed and accurate reports on incidents, observations, and activities during each shift.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency responders when required, following established protocols.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings and communicate any security-related concerns or hazards to the appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Have at least 2 years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
  • Have at least 5 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
