Salary: $126,100 - 227,950 per year Requirements:
- I am seeking a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree and over 12 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 10 years of experience. I may consider additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- The candidate must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
- A strong programming background with experience in production product development using C# is essential.
- Mastery of object-oriented design (OOD) principles and practices is required.
- Proven experience in software architecture and leadership roles is necessary.
- Expertise in Agile methodologies, including Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration, is important.
- I need someone capable of creating design documentation, requirements specifications, and other technical documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting and bug-fixing skills are crucial.
- The candidate should demonstrate effective communication and collaboration abilities in cross-functional team environments.
- They must be able to explain technical trade-offs and solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in developing project estimates for budgeting and scheduling, including considerations for sustaining engineering and technical debt remediation is required.
- Willingness to travel abroad is necessary, typically less than 10%.
Responsibilities: - As the Principal Software Engineer (C#), I will expect you to contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of services, simulators, and diagnostics (WPF and Blazor) using C#.
- You will lead by providing architectural guidance, fostering team collaboration, and ensuring adherence to best practices.
- I need you to spearhead the adoption of tools, including AI-based software development tools, to boost productivity and spur innovation.
- Your role will involve promoting team buy-in and shared ownership of technical solutions and processes.
- You will develop software that meets industry security standards and enhances the security compliance of our codebase and coding practices.
- Using object-oriented design principles and practices, you will ensure that our codebase remains reusable and maintainable.
- I will look for you to apply TDD and Continuous Integration methodologies to uphold the quality and reliability of our codebase.
- Collaboration with electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and scientific teams to meet customer requirements is essential.
- You will be tasked with evaluating customer challenges, troubleshooting issues, and assisting Field Service Engineers with resolution.
- Driving innovation through research and the integration of best practices to create cutting-edge solutions will be part of your job.
- You will assist with business development initiatives, including initial concept solutioning/architecting, estimating, and technical bid and proposal efforts.
- Effective interaction with customers of varying technical levels to explain, defend approaches, and develop tailored solutions will be expected.
- Your responsibilities will extend to developing project estimates for budgeting and scheduling, including ongoing engineering and obsolescence management.
- You should incorporate forward-thinking strategies into estimates to ensure sustainable product lines and minimize long-term risks.
- Communication within a small cross-functional team and reporting on project status and issues to management will be a regular part of your work.
