Job Title: Software Test Engineer - Black Box Testing Job Description We are seeking Software Test Engineers to support an Aerospace program developing a next-generation networking device designed for high-performance, secure, and reliable communication in mission-critical environments. This role is part of an innovative team expanding its scope from white box testing to include black box testing for advanced networking systems. The Software Test Engineers will design, generate, optimize, and execute black box tests for a next-generation networking device. This position involves working in a Linux-based environment with Docker containers, leveraging Python for test automation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure system reliability and compliance. Responsibilities + Develop and execute black box test cases for networking devices with no internal code visibility. + Generate, optimize, and operate automated tests for IP-based streaming and networking protocols. + Work within a Linux environment utilizing Docker containers. + Collaborate with engineering teams to validate system functionality and performance. + Interpret Spark code for understanding system behavior (writing code is not required). + Utilize GitLab for version control and CI/CD workflows. + Document test processes and results; familiarity with Cameo for UML modeling is a plus. Essential Skills + Active DOD Secret Clearance. + Proficiency in Python for test automation. + Strong understanding of Linux systems and Docker containerization. + Experience with networking protocols (IP, streaming). + Familiarity with GitLab workflows. + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving requirements. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience interpreting Spark code. + Knowledge of UML modeling; Cameo experience is a plus. + Experience in aerospace or defense systems testing. Work Environment This position is onsite in Grand Rapids, MI. A per diem of up to $900 NONTAXED/week is available for any eligible candidates. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Grand Rapids, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $67.31 - $86.54/hr.
