In the Support Services Section, Materials Team, and under supervision of a Warehouse Manager II, the incumbent is responsible for operating transport vehicles of less than three and a half tons. Loads, hauls and delivers a variety of telecommunications related equipment and parts to various destinations throughout the state of California.

Working Conditions

In Office - This position supports and manages the day-to-day business operations for Cal OES which is handled in an office location. This is not considered a hybrid telework position.

DMV Pull Program - Participation in the DMV Pull Program is required. The position(s) require(s) a valid California Driver’s License (CDL). You must answer the questions addressing your CDL on your application. Ensure you provide your CDL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions.
  • Possession of a driver license valid for the operation of any two-axle vehicle, except a bus designed to carry more than 15 passengers, and such vehicle towing another vehicle weighing less than 6,000 pounds gross. Driver must possess a clean driving record.

  • Ability to work alone or with little supervision.
  • Good punctuality and attendance.
  • Must be courteous, professional, respectful, and tactful with all persons that you communicate with through the course of your work.
  • Maintain maintenance and inspection records of the equipment including, but not limited to stake side truck, F-350 pickup, box trucks, hand truck, electric and manual pallet jacks, and tie down straps.
  • Willingness to work overtime.
  • Must report any accident or incident to management immediately.
  • Must follow safe driving practices and rules at all times.

Follow all PSC safety rules and procedures:

  • Promote safe work practices by all employees.
  • Promote a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Must refrain from attempting to operate equipment, use a tool or materials until you have been trained and authorized. Must refrain from altering or modifying any original tools or equipment.
  • Must refrain from performing a new task until the associated safety hazards and methods to protect yourself have been explained to you.
  • Keep your work area organized and as clean as possible, always maintaining good housekeeping procedures.
  • If you see a safety hazard, inform your coworkers, and notify your supervisor immediately.
