Health Advocates Network is currently seeking a **Certified Medical Assistant** to work at a Facility in **San Diego, CA.** These are _registry_ positions with our company. **Pay Rate:** $30 / hour *W2 **QUALIFICATIONS** + **Degree** : High school diploma or GED. + **Education:** Graduate from an accredited medical assistant training program (CAAHEP, ABHES, CCBMA, ACCSC, ACICS, ACCET, or ACCJC), or be a graduate of formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces. + **Certificate: ** American Heart Association or American Red Cross issued Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers. Certification must be acquired before starting; web-based classes not accepted. + **US Citizenship Required** **RESPONSIBILITIES** + Prepare examination rooms prior to patient's arrival. + Assist with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers as directed. + Check patient's vital signs, to include temperature, respiration, pulse, weight, blood pressure, and pulse oximeter reading. + Obtain and document patient's current medical history, drug history, chief complaints, allergies and vital signs on the correct form. + Perform diagnostic procedures when ordered. + Maintain examination room stock levels and perform routine maintenance of examination rooms. + Complete lab and x-ray requisitions in accordance with clinic policies. + Enter demographic data into the computer upon patient check-in; enter diagnosis and departing time when patient is released + Perform various administrative functions as directed, such as answering telephones and transcribing accurate messages, assisting with patient check-in, assisting with scheduling appointments, placing appointment reminder telephone calls. Administrative duties are in addition to clinical duties.
