Job Description

Finnair Helicopters , operating an EC135p2+, is based in Vernon BC and has been providing specialized helicopter services to BC Hydro and other utility suppliers within the wire environment for 20 years. BC Hydro is the transmission electrical utility for the Province of British Columbia Canada. 

We’re expanding and will be hiring 1 or 2 full-time permanent pilots to join our Okanagan-based team. 

If you’re an experienced powerline utility pilot with a passion for flying in the wire environment and providing precision longline services, and if you are experienced operating in mountainous terrain, we would like to receive your application.

Key Requirements

The Ideal Candidate

• You hold over 4000 hours PIC helicopter experience
• You hold an Advanced Mountain Flying Course certificate
• Your career has specialized in flying in the wire environment
• Your career has specialized in precision longline operations
• You are willing and able to relocate to the Okanagan BC
• You have twin engine experience 
• You have EC135 experience

Hiring Selection Process

• Shortlisted applicants will be contacted to arrange a competency-based skill testing session in the wire environment. This will be the primary selection tool.
• Wire environment and mountainous terrain experience are essential for this position.
• Twin-engine experience and EC135 type experience are highly valued but are not essential for the right candidate.
